As Donald Trump continues his charge toward the Republican nomination, the billionaire candidate’s past has been poked, prodded and heavily criticized. Regardless of where one’s opinion falls on Trump’s candidacy, it’s still fascinating to peruse through Trump’s successes and failures, including the USFL, which can fall under both categories.
Although he has been praised for standing up to the NFL, his work with the USFL has also been strongly ridiculed, with most blaming him for the demise of the league. Let’s head back to 1984 when Trump, owner of the New Jersey Generals, joined Keith Jackson in the booth for an interesting interview.
