After Thursday’s announcement that Ben Affleck would be taking over for Christian Bale as Batman, the Internet got its collective panties in a bunch, criticizing the casting choice in every way imaginable. The reaction was predictable for two reasons: 1) It’s the Internet, and 2) We’ve been through this before, as you can see by the shitstorm that hit the web in 2007 following the announcement that Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker.
Of course, we’re not saying Affleck is going to win an Oscar for playing the Caped Crusader, but hey, it could be worse — much worse. As long as the Batsuit doesn’t have nipples, I think we’ll survive.
