Stephen A. Smith has made plenty of dumb comments as an ESPN personality, and he added another one to the list Friday morning.
During a “Top 10” segment on “SportsCenter,” a highlight of a Woman’s World Cup game between Norway and Germany showed an impressive free kick goal. When some of the German players turned their head when the ball came in their direction, Smith (per usual) couldn’t hold himself back from making a stupid statement.
“They might not have wanted to mess their hair up,” he said.
Smith is no stranger to making controversial comments and apologizing shortly afterward. This wasn’t his worst instance, but we should expect a half-hearted apology some time in the near future.
