It’s been a rough week for U2 singer Bono. He had the door of his private jet fly off mid-flight and, just this past Sunday, he got into a cycling accident that forced him to cancel U2’s Tonight Show residency. The singer got into an accident while riding his bicycle in Central Park and had to be taken to the hospital for surgery on his arm. The injury caused the group to cancel their week long residency on The Tonight Show but they’re optimistic that they’ll be able to reschedule, according to their message board.
In their absence, comes Jimmy Fallon doing his best Bono impression and the always amazing Roots to cover U2’s “Desire.” Honestly, this was better than if U2 had performed it. Fallon wore Bono’s wardrobe, sunglasses and all, and even had a pretty convincing Irish accent. I wouldn’t be that upset if this cover of “Desire” was forced into my iTunes library.
