Just give him the keys to ESPN for one day and be sure that day happens to be the same day that all FCC laws are deemed unconstitutional. The eccentric former basketball player and current college hoops color commentator has analyzed a potential fight between a bear and husky, ranted on the legalization of weed and discussed his showering habits…all on-air. And those occurrences aren’t even touching the tip of the gigantic Bill Walton iceberg, one that features such bizarre and intricate details that no single human being could comprehend.
He might be 62 years old and physically living in 2015 but the former No. 1 overall pick in the 1974 NBA Draft appears to spiritually and philosophically living as an 18-year-old in 1970.
Grateful Dead was only five years old in 1970 and had not even performed 856 times, but fast forward 45 years and that’s exactly the number of Grateful Dead concerts that Walton has attended (via Lost Lettermen):
