Ramiro Santos of Albertville, Alabama was arrested on Christmas Eve for having 14 cases of beer in his car. Some of his favorites include: Bud Light, Modelo, and Corona. Transporting more than five gallons of alcohol is a felony in Alabama and if convicted, Mr. Santos will spend up to five years in prison with a minimum term of one year. If I’m doing my arithmetic correctly, it is illegal to transport a little more than two cases of beer in your car while driving in Alabama. Mr. Santos should have known better and had six of his buddies drive separately to the liquor store, each purchasing two cases, then all drive back to the same Christmas Eve party (sober of course). This would have been much more convenient, efficient, and would have saved a ton of gas money.
