In late 2022, Adidas parted ways with Kanye West following a string of antisemitic remarks from the popular rapper, ending the Yeezy product line. Since then, Adidas has continued to sell its remaining Yeezy products that were manufactured before the separation from the rapper. But West is now claiming that Adidas is selling Yeezy products that he never designed.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Kanye West called out Adidas for promoting the “Yeezy 350 V2 Steel” sneaker, claiming that he never designed the shoe and is no longer getting any money off of their sale.
“Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys I never made these color ways,” Kanye West said in his post on Instagram. “I’m not getting paid off of them and adidas is suing me.”
West then called on his fans and fellow celebrities to support him against what he sees as injustice from “the system.”
“All these celebrities and the public will stand against a T shirt or the color of my hat but when yall see me have my children hidden from me or see an actual Fortune 500 company [abuse] one of your heroes in real life don’t nobody say nothing or do nothing,” Ye said. “As far as the system goes What yall gone do now[?] Take my album down again Freeze my accounts again[?] Threaten people to not work with me again[?]”
As for the shoes themselves, West is not a fan.
“All the new non approved 350’s are cooorny,” the rapper concluded.
