Before the AFC Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens, Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted that he would give $8,500 to anyone who correctly guessed the score of the game (with a 1 point cushion).
Again,$8500 for winner of Pats/Rave,exact score with 1 point cushion for both teams for final score/1 guess only by 630pm EST/Abby’s hatpick

Well, one fan by the name of Jason predicted a Baltimore victory of 27-13, off by one of the actual 28-13, and Irsay came through. Jason received a DM from Irsay after the game asking for his mailing adress, and Wednesday afternoon the package from FedEx arrived.

In the package contained the money and a note from Irsay congratulating Jason on his correct guess. Pretty nice package to recieve. I still don’t understand why Irsay would give money to a random fan for guessing the correct score of a game that his team isn’t even playing in, but, as Yahoo Sports reports, this isn’t the first time Irsay has held such a competition.
The cash-heavy Irsay also held contests for the San Francisco-Atlanta game ($2000 to the first to pick the winner, quarterback rating winner, and total score) and a “conservative” AFC championship pick ($500 for the winner straight up).
