If you aren’t aware, Jay Z recently purchased the high-fidelity music streaming service TIDAL for a mere $56 million. Over the weekend artists from Jay Z, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, and even Arcade Fire began changing their Twitter avatars to a solid teal blue and hashtagging #TIDALforALL.
The marketing campaign is certainly drawing attention and making people more aware of the new streaming service but if that wasn’t enough, today is TIDAL’s launch day and there is a new promo video featuring some of music’s heaviest hitters. The promo includes Daft Punk, Kanye, Jay, Beyonce, Jack White, Chris Martin, Madonna, and so many more.
At 2PM PST there will be a special announcement live streamed on the TIDAL site which will most likely be the full details regarding what TIDAL is and what it can offer compared to its rivals. The service will include two tiers of a paid subscription, starting at $10 for a basic streaming service and $19.99 for a higher end audio subscription.
As far as exclusive content, don’t expect the new Rihanna album to be a surprise TIDAL exclusive.
