The Scripps National Spelling Bee is one of the most oddly fascinating televised events in the world, with millions of non-spelling nerds tuning in every year to watch youngsters spell words we didn’t even know existed. The concept is bizarre, as it’s a dry, repetitive and disgustingly unentertaining process but one that people still love to watch. As the 2015 event crawls along, with a winner scheduled to be crowed on May 29th, we’ve got you covered with a wonderful array of “highlights” and lowlights from recent memory.
