Ellen Degeneres hosted last night’s Academy Awards and during the show she took some time to take an all-star “selfie” with a group that included Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey, Angelina Jolie and Bradley Cooper, who actually captured the photo.
The resulting photo was not only fantastic, but record-breaking as well. The picture was uploaded to Twitter by Ellen (@TheEllenShow) and it went crazy viral, racking up more than 2.5 million retweets (more than 1.3 million in less than an hour) – giving her the most retweeted tweet of all-time and making her the first user to ever surpass one million retweets.
The previous record was held by Barack Obama’s victory photo from the night of his 2012 Presidential re-election, which has more than 780,000 retweets.
