Here’s a story that should warm your heart.
Spanish footballing giants Barcelona FC will wear special jerseys in tonight’s Joan Gamper Trophy match versus Santos. The jerseys will feature a different style of lettering on the back which was designed by Anna Vives, a local graphic designer with Down Syndrome.
The jerseys will only be worn for this one game and will be auctioned off afterwards to benefit the Itinerarium Foundation, where Ms. Vives works. This isn’t the first time Anna’s work has been on public display. She once designed the racing helmet for Jorge Lorenzo, but the Barcelona supporter says this will be “the happiest day of my life.”

The initiative is being promoted by the Itinerarium Foundation in association with the FC Barcelona Foundation, and aims to raise money for the Itinerarium’s BOX21 project to improve the lives, leisure and free-time of people with learning difficulties. Specifically, the proceeds will be used to foster sport among these people, and the project is being actively supported by Andrés Iniesta, one of the project’s patrons.
