Over the weekend, street artist Banksy, who is in the middle of a month-long residency in New York City, set up an art stand in Manhattan. The unannounced (and one-time-only) pop-up shop featured original works — not prints of previous work — which means the $240 total that three (THREE!) customers spent on the paintings could fetch a thousand times that much at auction. One woman even haggled the $60 asking price on one piece to 50% off.
