Tired of everybody laughing at that Saturday night special you carry in your glove compartment? Time to head to the next Christie’s auction in London because no one will screw with you when you pull out Al Capone’s piece.
The gun, a Colt .38 special, is expected to go for over $100,000 but you can’t put a price on respect. And apparently it’s all legit according to Christie’s:
Along with the handgun, the winning bidder will receive an original personal letter from Madeleine Capone Morichetti, the widow of Capone’s brother, Ralph Capone, along with an affidavit sworn by herin March 1990.
The documents affirm the gun ‘previously belonged to and was only used by Al Capone while he was alive.’
There’s no way the wife and brother of one of the most notorious criminals in American history would lie so you can definitely buy with confidence in London on June 22nd.
Oh, and don’t forget to pay your taxes.
