Ohio State star defensive end Tyleik Williams was one of several key Ohio State Buckeyes players who opted to return for one more season of college football instead of declaring for the NFL Draft. And he explained that decision a bit last week.
During an interview session last week, Tyleik Williams indicated that it wasn’t all that difficult of a decision for him as he can come back, develop for another season, and take another crack at the NFL next year – all while trying to win a national title.
“I called a bunch of the older guys to see where their head was at,” Williams said after Ohio State’s second spring practice according to Eleven Warriors. “They basically told me ‘Why not come back? We have a good squad come back and we can do good things.’ So basically I decided why not? NFL isn’t going anywhere. I can get another year of development and learn more things before next year.”
With all the returning players, Ohio State will likely be considered one of the preseason favorites to win the College Football Playoff. We’ll have to see whether or not the team can live up to the hype.
