Deion Sanders has had a miraculous turnaround in Boulder, Colorado, turning the Colorado Buffaloes football program into playoff contenders in just two years at the helm.
A big part of Sanders’s success has been tied to his ability to track the top talent across the country, whether through recruiting or through the transfer portal. However, it appears Sanders has been violating guidelines in order to attract his talent, and the NCAA has learned about his transgressions.
“Colorado football has been hit with a minor NCAA recruiting violation, (USA TODAY) reports The violation stems from Deion Sanders mentioning QB recruit Julian ‘JuJu’ Lewis during his weekly coaches show,” tweeted sports outlet On3.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Deion isn’t staying at Colorado. He will be the next head coach for the Dallas Cowboys,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If this was a Big Ten team, they’ll try to throw the book at them. Since it’s Colorado or and SEC team- a soft hand tap,” one fan added.
“Wait maybe I’m misunderstanding this but how is this a violation? Is there a clip floating around that can explain?” one fan added.
“This petty. Plus if he said it during a coaches show why they waiting until NOW to try and do something? Bro already been on campus,” added another person.
It’ll be interesting to see if this hurts Sanders in his process for future recruits.
