In December, five-star superstar wide receiver prospect Jeremiah Smith signed with the Ohio State Buckeyes as he hopes to become the next great Ohio State receiver after a strong run of first-round picks produced by the team. And it sounds like he’s already making quite an impression on his new teammates.
Jeremiah Smith is the highest-rated wide receiver ever to sign with Ohio State, topping recent players like Garrett Wilson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr. – all first-round picks. And just a few weeks after enrolling at Ohio State, he’s already getting some high praise from some of his teammates.
“There’s nothing he really can’t do. He runs fast. He jumps high. He’s strong. He’s a natural pass-catcher. I mean, yeah, he’s a freak,” star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka said of Smith according to Chase Brown of Eleven Warriors.
Emeka Egbuka on Jeremiah Smith:
“There’s nothing he really can’t do. He runs fast. He jumps high. He’s strong. He’s a natural pass-catcher. I mean, yeah, he’s a freak.”
“I think he has a bright future here.”

“I think he has a bright future here.”
Smith was the highest-rated player in the entire country in the 2024 high school recruiting class and signed with Ohio State over Miami, Florida, Georgia, Florida State and others.
Ohio State has a strong legacy of dominant receivers, but Smith seems already poised to become one of the best in program history.
