There is no bigger rivalry in sports than the Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The rivalry is so intense that even years after players hang up their cleats, they never lose their hatred of the other side. One prime example is ESPN college football analyst Desmond Howard.
Howard’s job is to be as unbiased as possible as he covers the sport, but he just can’t help himself sometimes. This week Howard was discussing the Buckeyes, who are currently the fourth-ranked team in the country, and he took a major shot at them.
The Buckeyes struggled to dominate recently in the same way they did during the early part of the season, and Howard says it’s because they’re pretenders who can only beat up on smaller schools and lesser opponents.
“You get a false impression of how great you are when you’re going up and down the field against inferior opponents,” Howard said during an episode of ESPN’s College Football Live.

Ohio State fans were fired up about the remark on social media.
“Your team spent 16 million, forgot to get a quarterback and have 3 losses!” one fan said on Twitter.
“His team sucks so he’s mad. OSU lost by one to the #1 team in the country goofy,” one fan added.
“This [expletive] bozo eats “20 million” more than food. Your school spent 16 million and [expletive] ASS. you’ll never hear him mention that ever. Judgement day is coming, November 30th,” one fan added.
“Desmond, you are an open book when it comes to hating Ohio State and I understand why because you played for the school up north. But why don’t you take a tip from Kurt Herbstreet, a former buckeye and a co-analyst on college game day with you who is more objective of both schools, unlike you!” one fan added.
The sad thing for Ohio State’s dejected fans is that even if the Buckeyes miraculously win this year, Michigan will still lead the all-time series.
