Caitlin Clark Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark has proven over her collegiate career at Iowa that she is one of the most skilled basketball players in the world, regardless of gender. But despite this, many members of the Duke football team believe that they could beat Clark in a one-on-one basketball game.

Clark’s accolades at the collegiate level speak volumes about her supreme athletic ability. Not only is she the AP Player of the Year for a second straight year, but she also broke the NCAA all-time scoring record for points this season, a record previously held by the great Pete Maravich.

Simply put, if you aren’t an extremely high-level basketball player, you likely wouldn’t have a chance against Clark in a one-on-one game.

Well, the Duke football team feels a bit differently about a potential matchup with Clark. Nine players on the team were asked how they would fare against Clark for a TikTok video. Of the nine, seven players said that they would beat Clark. A few even said that Clark wouldn’t score a single point in a game to 21 points.

Yes, you heard that right, seven players who likely haven’t played competitive basketball since high school, if at all, said that they could beat one of the greatest scorers at the college game in a one-on-one basketball game.

Not only is this quite absurd, but it comes off as extremely arrogant. Imagine the outrage if Clark said that she could compete against them in a one-on-one football drill.

That obviously could never happen because Clark hasn’t had the years of training required to play football at that level. Just like these Duke players could never compete with Clark…

Caitlin Clark has received her flowers from college basketball fans all season long. But it sure seems like she deserves even more respect.
