Racing in the tight confines of Alpe d’Huez during the Tour De France is difficult enough, but one biking ‘fan’ (I use that term loosely) decided to make it even more challenging for racer Chris Froome.
On Thursday, Froome was on stage 12 when a random guy from the crowd decided to run up to him and push him as he was racing.
Froome isn’t super popular in Tour circles due to his previous doping scandal, but that doesn’t mean he deserves to get pushed.
I don’t know what kind of idiot you have to be to try to injure a biker, with hundreds of people around and the event being recorded and broadcast on live TV. The guy is lucky Froome didn’t get injured or fight back. Hopefully, the guy is caught and banned for life. There’s no need for that kind of nonsense.
