Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman and former ESPN analyst Hugh Douglas was arrested in Hartford this week for assaulting a woman in a Marriott Hotel.
WFSB in Connecticut obtained court documents that detail the attack:
According to court documents, Douglas “grabbed her by the neck” and “slammed her into the walls several times.” The court papers go on to say that Douglas told investigators the victim’s injuries happened during rough sex.
Douglas was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation. Douglas was arraigned on Tuesday and his next court appearance is Oct. 21.
It was only in August that Douglas was fired from ESPN for racial slurs directed at his ‘Numbers Never Lie’ colleague Michael Smith. Douglas played 10 seasons in the NFL with his last being in 2004. Douglas played six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, and the remainder with New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
