Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed the Spurs are interested in securing David Beckham on a loan. Redknapp is confident Beckham could contribute:
Beckham has previously stated he would only consider a Premiership loan to Manchester United but, according to the Mail Online, his management have hinted he would be open to Spurs advances.
Redknapp seems enthusiastic that Beck’s is keen to play in any form:
He could sit in his fantastic house with a pool and enjoy his life for a few months before he starts with LA Galaxy again. But he wants to come over here, freezing cold, and play football. That tells you everything about him. He’s still got real passion for the game.
The possibility of Beckham heading to Europe until the MLS season begins in March hinges on the LA Galaxy deciding if they are comfortable with a loan. Given the recent injury history and the urgency for the Galaxy to bring home the MLS Cup in 2011 a loan seems unlikely.
