This is not an Onion story, yet it definitely has that feel to it. Tiger Woods who has been hampered by injuries for the past few years has injured himself again, but this time it was courtesy of a very odd circumstance. A hotel bed was apparently too ‘soft,’ and it led to Tiger’s back and neck being too stiff to play the back nine of this pro-am on Wednesday at The Barclays. No cause for alarm, but if it does end up bothering him down the road you will be hearing a whole bunch more Tiger/bed jokes.
According to the AP:
He says his neck and back were stiff in the morning. He attributes it to a soft bed in his hotel and says he didn’t want to push it.
Woods was seen grabbing his back in the final round of the PGA Championship. He had an elbow injury that troubled him for two months this summer. Woods says he’s not concerned. He says everything felt fine when he was home.
Asked about getting a new bed, Woods smiled and said, “We’ll have something.”
Welp.
