The Lehigh Valley IronPigs gave away a free funeral as the prize of an essay contest Tuesday night, dubbed “Celebration Of Life Night.” The package totaling a value of $10,000 was awarded to Steve Paul, 64, who is suffering from Lou Gherig’s Disease. At first glance, the contest seems to be quite silly and something to laugh at, but the prize has provided some relief for Paul and his family:
The whole promotion was a blessing and it took a great burden off my family’s mind
The package is essentially an all expenses paid funeral that includes professional services from funeral staff, transportation, and facilities among others.
Nice job by the IronPigs to do a promotion that is extremely bold, but positively affecting lives.
