Manny Ramirez came back to the States with the hopes of landing a spot on the Texas Rangers ball club, but unfortunately that won’t be happening anytime soon. Manny’s has been let go from his contract with the Rangers’ Triple-A Round Rock club, and now has to do his best to see if he can fit in with any other MLB squads.
According to Sports Day DFW:
General manager Jon Daniels said the club made the move because it had no spot for Ramirez at the major-league level. Daniels acted now so that Ramirez can catch on with another club.
It is doubtful there will be interest in Ramirez. A scout with an American League team who saw Ramirez about three weeks ago said he showed “no bat speed” and no power. With Round Rock, Ramirez hit .259 with three homers and only six extra-base hits overall in 108 at-bats. He had only two extra-base hits in his last 33 at-bats with Round Rock.
We will always still have this memory.
