ESPN used the above graphic to promote the SportsCenter highlights of the Nationals-Tigers game with this graphic of Stephen Strasburg and Miguel Cabrera. For some reason or another, the graphics team decided Miggy, the league’s best right-handed hitter, would be better served as a lefty.
So then, and once again, for some reason we can’t really think of, they photoshopped this image:
As you can see, they basically just flipped the image, fixed the ‘D’ emblem on Cabrera’s helmet and erased the lettering and numbering on the back of his jersey. Simple enough.
Still don’t really get why it was necessary, though.
