PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made it clear he’s had it with Barcelona trying to buy Thiago Silva’s services from Paris St-Germain. The Brazilian defender is considered one of the best in the world at his position and Barcelona’s rearguard has some holes. It seems like a perfect fit, except that Silva could cost Barca the best player in the world.
Al-Khelaifi says that if Barcelona succeed in landing Silva, he will “pay the clause for Lionel Messi.”
The clause he is talking about is the 250 million Euro buyout clause in Messi’s contract. Since taking over PSG in 2011, Al-Khelaifi has spent crazy money to upgrade his squad so Barcelona would be silly to call his bluff.
This is going to be fun.
