President Obama is a well known hoopster, but what you maybe didn’t know is that The President of the United States also has some soccer skills up his suit sleeve. The President was touring a power plant in Tanzania when he was introduced to a ‘Soccket‘ soccer ball which actually has an internal pendulum which generates power the more it is kicked around. The manufacturer of the ball says that 30 minutes of play can power a simple LED lamp for up to three hours. President Obama grabbed the Socket ball and started juggling it around, much to the reporters delight who were in attendance.
“I thought it was pretty cool,” said Mr. Obama, who played soccer growing up in Indonesia. “You can imagine this in villages all across the country.”
The plan is to have the Soccket balls distributed throughout Africa.
