According to ESPN, it looks like the Celtics and Clippers have finally agreed on a deal which will send Doc over to Los Angeles. The deal still has to be approved by the league, which is not necessarily a given.
Sources confirmed on Sunday that the Clippers will sign Rivers to a three-year, $21 million contract. They will send a first-round pick as compensation for the Boston Celtics, who have agreed to release the coach from the three years, $21 million he has remaining on his deal with the club.
If the deal goes through it will be a massive win for the Clippers who have been in desperate need of a coach with Championship experience. The Celtics will also make out just fine as they will be getting a first rounder which will help their efforts to get a bit younger.
