While NBC’s Bob Costas was running down some sports highlights during the U.S. Open broadcast yesterday, he decided it was the perfect time to slam the New York Mets. As video was being shown of the Mets players celebrating a walk-off home run at home plate, Costas proclaimed “a team 14 games under .500 celebrates like it just won the seventh game of the World Series – another indication of the ongoing decline of Western civilization.”
Um, what were they supposed to do…solemnly greet their teammate at home plate with frowns? Sounds like somebody needs to get off his high horse and kindly remove whatever is jammed up his behind.
