The future is looking bright in Alabama as the Tide just wrapped up stud Prep QB David Cornwell of (North Norman High School) Norman, Oklahoma. At 6’5″, 234, Cornwell possesses all the tools necessary to emerge into a serious national star, especially due to the fact that he is going to be surrounded by a plethora of athletes from the onset of his tenure in Tuscaloosa. Our bottom line: The pressure and comparisons to pretty boy A.J. McCarron could get into anyone’s head especially if A.J. attains the triple crown. Good luck to this youngster for a safe and productive senior season.
Cornwell not only possesses exactly what you want physically in terms of stature and tools, but he is a much better athlete than you might think. He is a pocket passer who can also operate a wide-open attack and quick passing game. Cornwell should see significant attention in the spring and summer. Could play in a multiple pro-style set or shotgun spread. One of the better passing talents in this class and he is not a statue.
