The sequel to 2006’s ‘300′, a fictionalized telling of the Battle of Thermopylae in which 300 Spartans went head-to-head with Xerxes Persian army of 300,000, now has a trailer.
The two and a half minute trailer for ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ hints that the sequel will be just as visually stunning and action-packed as it’s predecessor. With Gerard Butler’s character, King Leonidas, now dead, the film will star Rodrigo Santoro reprising his role as Xerxes, woman-warrior Artemisia (Eva Green of Casino Royale fame) and Greek general Themistocles, played by Sullivan Stapleton.
The film is based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel, Xerxes, and Zack Snyder (‘300′ and ‘Man of Steel’) once again has directorial duties.
The film is set to hit theaters March 7, 2014.
