31 year old Serena Williams won her 16th grand slam early this morning by defeating Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-4 in the French Open. Sharapova, who won the French Open last year, is now 2-14 in matches vs. Williams.
Serena moves to 43-2 this year. Next stop…Wimbledon – where she is the heavy favorite.
