Prohibition ended 80 years ago, but one Pittsburgh bar is bringing it back. Kind of. Pittsburgh bar, Howler’s Coyote Café will ban the sale of Boston beer, Sam Adams starting on Saturday night when the Penguins face off against the Boston Bruins.
This was the “public service announcement from the staff at Howlers” on the bar’s Facebook page:
It seems crazy to prohibit any beer, especially one that pays tribute to an American patriot who helped spur the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party. I’m not really sure what Pittsburghy thing that Boston can ban. It would be fairly difficult to ban steel. I guess they could boycott Heinz Ketchup, but they would only be hurting themselves as well as their burgers and fries. Maybe an embargo on chipped ham sandwiches?
