First it was Four Loko, now it’s fake pot. Late in November the DEA published a “Notice of Intent to Temporarily Control” five chemicals that are used to make synthetic marijuana. The DEA can enforce a ban on these chemicals as soon as December 24th for one year with the option to extend for an additional six months. The five chemicals are: JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-200, CP-47,497, and cannabicyclohexanol. Stores and online retailers are selling “herbal smoking blends” containing traces of these chemicals that mimic the effects of THC, the stuff in marijuana that makes you high. Some of these herbal blends are K2 and Spice. So if you’re looking for stocking stuffers, the time to stock up is now.
