Jason Collins wrote a piece for Sports Illustrated which hit on Monday morning which made him the ‘first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport.’ Collins played with the Celtics and the Wizards this season, which has been his 12th season in the NBA. On Tuesday morning he gave an ABC News interview with George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America which can be viewed in full below. Collins’ announcement was greeted with an overwhelming round of support from athletes and beyond.
