Two 20-year old kids somehow devised a way to not only listen to two actual NFL general managers discuss the pending free agency period, but also record it. The result is nothing short of amazing.
On Friday, Buffalo GM Buddy Nix and Tampa Bay GM Mark Dominik had a conversation that was recorded for all of us layman NFL fans to hear. On Thursday, these guys called Buffalo’s front office (the number is in the phone book, it seems) and said that they were Mark Dominik for Buddy Nix. They were transferred and, as soon as Nix answered, they hung up in a panic.
Nix, however, called back. He kept calling back. Over and over he would call and the boys didn’t answer. Then they had the idea to call Tampa Bay, pretend to be Nix, and then merge the two calls together and listen to the whole thing.
The two GMs talk about how much they hate the new free agency rules, paying too much for Ryan Fitzpatrick, any possible dealings they could do, and so on.
The audio of these calls (with vital info edited out) is below.
