Beyoncé address any lip syncing rumors head on by opening her Super Bowl press conference by belting out the National Anthem accapella and finished up by asking, “Does anybody have any questions?” The moment was surreal and was perfectly executed by Beyoncé. When a reporter asked later on during the conference asking if Beyoncé would be performing live at the Super Bowl, she responded definitively with, “I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed and I will be singing live. This is what I was born to do.”
Beyoncé also responded to the criticism of her lip syncing performance at President Obama’s innaguration:
“I am a perfectionist, one thing about me: I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live television event. One of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the President and the inauguration. So I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track. and I’m very proud of my performance.”
