The Jets had about enough of Mark Sanchez on Sunday and chose to go with Greg McElroy midway through the third quarter. As McElroy got ready to enter the game the Jets ‘faithful’ gave one of the loudest standing ovations of the entire year. Sanchez was 10/21 with 97 yards and three interceptions at the time of his yanking. So how did the rookie fare in his first drive? McElroy led the Jets on a sustained drive and capped it off by connecting with Jeff Cumberland for a 1 yard touchdown pass. Not a bad way to start in your NFL debut.
It is also pretty great that Greg had to look around to find the football after the play was over. That ball is definitely making its way to his mantle.
