Jets linebacker Bart Scott will sit out a game today for the first time since 2004 due to a foot injury. The Jets had listed Scott as doubtful on their injury report this week, and early Sunday morning Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported that Scott has been ruled out for the Jets match-up against the Miami Dolphins. Scott has been playing with a foot injury since September 23rd when he injured his big right toe on the second play of the game. Doctors told the team that Scott could miss several weeks, but in true Bart Scott fashion he played through the pain. The Jets have a bye next week and sitting out this week will allow the toe almost three weeks to heal.
Jets LB Bart Scott’s 119 consecutive games streak will come to an end Sunday. He will miss game vs Dolphins with toe injury, I’m told. #nyj
