The Olympic flame was briefly put out when it was carried on a white water raft at the Lee Valley Games Venue at Waltham Cross on Saturday. A 20-year-old canoeist Alex Franklin did all he could to prevent the temporary outage, but was unable to prevent the fairly hilarious incident. This has to have happened before, and if anyone thought it was a good idea to have it head down some rapids while lit, is not that smart.
