If you are looking to snatch up some more bling for your summer collection, you can go to SCP Auctions and purchase Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl XXV ring. Taylor is seeking between $75,000 and $100,000 for the ring and the site has a fairly robust description of the ring and why it is so ‘special’:
Presented here is arguably the most significant Superbowl player ring ever offered publicly. Lawrence Taylor’s own 1991 Superbowl XXV ring feature two football shaped diamonds on the face surrounded by worn blue enameling framed by seventeen smaller diamonds. Design elements include the name “TAYLOR” on the left shank above a Giants helmet and his number “56”. Engraved on the interior band in the full name “LAWRENCE TAYLOR”. The ring shows considerable wear, that in some eyes, only enhances it aura. A phenomenally important memento from one of the greatest football players of all-time. Size: 12.
Taylor has had a rough post NFL life which we are assuming is why the ring is up for auction. He has struggled with drug abuse, he became a registered sex offender last year after pleading guilty to charges of sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute, and pled guilty to tax evasion in the late 1990s.
