Kobe Bryant used an injury he sustained earlier in the year to raise some very good money for the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation. Kobe recently auctioned off the mask he wore this season to protect his broken nose during the NBA All-Star Game, and the final total was a cool $67,100.
The auction ended on Tuesday and the final tally skyrocketed from the opening bid of $250 all the way to $67,100. At the end of the day there were 129 total bids.
According to the original ebay listing:
This is your chance to own a piece of NBA history. For a basketball fan, this is an amazing, one-of-a kind sports artifact. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation’s Youth Homelessness Initiative, the primary goal of which is to have a measurable, positive impact on the critical issue of youth homelessness in Los Angeles.
