This is where taking the love of sports goes slightly too far. Mike McWain of Pasco decided it would be a good idea to pay homage to the game of baseball by getting iconic baseball images tattooed across his back and arms. The “mural” includes famous ballplayers such as Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig and Ty Cobb (just to name a few). The tattoo of Yankees stadium apparently took six to nine hours to complete. All told McWain spent around $10k and spent 180 hours getting the tattoos completed.
“The first sport I ever remember watching on television was baseball,” McWain said. “I was about 8 years old, and I watched the whole game, which was unusual for me. I think Pete Rose was playing.”
“There were a lot of reasons I waited so long to finish this,” he said. “At the time I got the first tattoo done, my son was born. I had a family to support and that had to come first, plus I wasn’t making a lot of money back then to justify the expense.”
