John Axford is a unique story. At one time Axford was just a normal everyday guy selling cell phones and bar tending at a local joint in Ontario, Canada. Today he is the Brewers go to man late in the game. John Axford’s path to the major leagues is inspiring, and hopeful as he followed his dreams despite the many obstacles in his way. At 6 foot 5 inches tall Axford intimidates batters with his presence on the mound and his mid 90’s fastball, curve, slider and change keep players guessing late into games. He is now one of the premier closers in the National league however he still needs to work on his control. Look out for him in the 2012-season as he will be vital to the success of the Brew Crew.
