Scott Hartnell of the Philadelphia Flyers scored just as their overtime battle against the Pittsburgh Penguins came to the end of the extra five minutes. With the 3-2 win the Flyers successfully ended the Penguins’ 11-game winning streak. Hartnell’s slapshot game winner came with just under one second left in the overtime period. Hartnell said after the game in which he had taken some physical abuse: “I’ll take a beat up face to get a couple of goals and a big win in the standings.”

The goal should make up for Hartnell’s earlier transgression in which he accidentally slashed teammate Zac Rinaldo:
