Pepe did nothing to help out his “dirty player” reputation by stepping on the hand of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi during today’s first leg of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Barcelona. In the 67th minute Pepe stepped on Lionel Messi’s hand, which looked completely intentional, and was lucky that the ref did not see it or he surely would have been sent off and given a second yellow card. You can decide for yourself whether or not Pepe purposely stepped on Messi’s hand, but the evidence is fairly strong to support the theory that it was intentional.
