This season, the Tennessee Titans placed their trust in second-year quarterback Will Levis, who struggled to deliver when given the opportunity to start full-time. Heading into the offseason, the team appears ready to let Levis prove himself, but they’re also actively exploring options for a new starting quarterback, as well.
During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, newly appointed Tennessee Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi answered some questions on how the team was set to approach the quarterback position this season.
While Borgonzi emphasized that the team is “keeping an open mind” regarding Levis’ role as the starter and that he will have a chance to compete, he also made it clear they plan to “turn over every rock” in their search for the best option.
“We’re keeping an open mind on this, but the quarterback is the most important position in sports,” Borgonzi said according to Pro Football Talk. “So you have to solidify the quarterback position.
“We’re going to turn over every rock, whether that’s free agency, draft or we have quarterbacks on the roster here. Will, we’re going to give him every opportunity to play and to compete. But we’re going to attack this thing. We’re going to be relentless attacking this until we find the answer.”
The Titans currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which could position them to select a top rookie quarterback, such as Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward.
Alternatively, the team might target a veteran free agent or pursue a trade to acquire a new signal-caller.
Regardless of what they choose to do, it’s pretty clear that the team is looking to explore other options outside of Levis this offseason.
