The New Orleans Saints are in need of a new head coach after parting ways with Dennis Allen earlier in the season, and it sounds like they are moving Joe Brady forward in the interview process.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady joins Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore in earning a second interview with the New Orleans Saints.
“The #Saints have a busy end to this week and beginning of next week, sources say, as they hope to add to their interview list by speaking a second time, in-person, with Joe Brady and Kellen Moore,” Rapoport said in a post on X.
“Add those to Mike McCarthy, Anthony Weaver, and Mike Kafka. And maybe more.”
The Saints have obviously cast a wide net in their coaching search as they look for their next head coach, but by earning a second interview, it’s clear that Brady has separated from the pack a bit.
Brady joined the NFL ranks in 2020 after helping lead Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers to the College Football Playoff national championship following the 2019 season.
While he struggled a bit during his first stint as an NFL coordinator with the Carolina Panthers, he has since thrived with the Buffalo Bills and has emerged as a top head coaching candidate.
We’ll have to see whether or not the Saints choose to hire him as their next head coach.
