Donald Trump is an avid golfer who has been known to share some rather unrealistic golf scores over the years. And it seems like he is once again at the center of a controversy about an absolutely unrealistic golf score.
Over the weekend, Canadian politician and businessman spent some time with United States President-Elect Donald Trump at his golf resort in Palm Beach, Florida. O’Leary shared a post on social media thanking Trump for hosting him at his resort, and he also made a complerely unrealistic claim about Trump’s golf game, claiming Trump shot a score of 68.
“Great day with the President. A gracious host. And, he shot a 68! My recommendation, try the Trump Burger!” O’Leary said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
A score of 68 on a course like that would be difficult for a top-tier professional golfer. It’s completley unbelievable to think that Trump, who is a 78-year-old elderly and obese amateur golfer, casually put up a score that would rival PGA Tour stars.
Needless to say, this assertion led to a lot of reactions on social media who seemed to think this was a clear lie.
“No freaking way he shot a 68,” one person wrote on X.
“68 My [Behind],” someone else said.
“It’s absolutely incredible that this idiot thinks we will believe that Trump shot a 68. The only way he shoots a 68 is if every 50-foot putt becomes a gimme,” another person added.
“There’s not a world in the entire Marvel multiverse where I believe Trump shot a real 68,” someone else said.
“I can shoot a 68 for nine holes too,” another person joked.
“Sure, Trump shot 68 and I hit four home runs today too,” someone else said.
“Absolutely zero chance Trump shot a 68,” another person said.
“If you’re going to lie about a golf score, at least make it believable,” someone else said.
It’s worth noting that this is not the only time Trump has been at the center of controversy about a completely unrealistic golf claim. A couple of years ago, Trump claimed to have shot a 67 at his Bedminster course just two weeks after Phil Mickelson posted a score eight strokes worse than a 67.
